We have long known that large class sizes in the primary grades can decrease – or at least, challenge – successful student learning. Even a capable and experienced teacher can sometimes struggle to engage and motivate their students when the classroom space is busy and over crowded.
A recent surge in the student enrolment at St. Peter’s Primary School has seriously stressed our general school resources and the capabilities of the current teaching staff. We currently use a large open space in a nearby church to hold our Baby and Middle classes.

As the photos above indicate, the church space is divided with one class of 90 students and 2 teachers on one side and another class of 60 students and 1 teacher on the opposite side. Can you imagine teaching or trying to learn in such an overcrowded space?
This is why we have begun to fundraise so that we can build 3 additional classroom spaces as well as hire more teaching staff. We invite you to CONSIDER MAKING A CONTRIBUTION to our efforts to expand our classroom spaces to meet the immediate needs of our current swelling enrolment.
