It is time that we updated everyone on the status of our GoFundMe fundraising campaign for much needed new classrooms at St. Peter’s Primary School.

This fundraising campaign began on December 10, 2023. As of May 1, 2026, we have raised OVER ELEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS (CAD) for the school. As impressive as this may seem, we have only raised about 17% of our overall goal of $70K CAD.

Has any of the money raised through GFM been spent already?

Yes, a small amount has been spent securing approval of the building plans and permits as well as the purchase of a small number of required construction supplies at good market prices. The following numbers were provided by Krizanti Iraguha and are accurate as of April 21, 2026.

Notes: All above currency conversions were accurate as of May 1, 2026. The GoFundMe campaign was originally established in Canada because GFM did not operate in Uganda. Hence, the reason for showing amounts in Canadian dollars. To date, GFM has taken about $300.00 CAD in fees. All GFM funds raised are transferred (without a fee) from a Canadian to an Ugandan bank using a Global Money Transfer. Krizanti usually receives the funds in less than 24 hours.
